Fun Tisha Fact: I always wanted a little girl.
Fun Tisha fact that most don’t know:
After Ty was born, there was a period where I really wanted to have a little girl. I wanted Ty and her to have each other to grow up with and to always be able to lean on, but mostly I wanted a mini-me. I wanted a daughter to love and to help guide as a woman through this crazy world and to try to be a strong, loving example of things like kindness, compassion, empathy, courage, resiliency, and so many more.
On some subconscious level, I’ve realized I also wanted to see a version of me grow up with all the things I didn’t have, like stability, safety, nourishment, connection, a mother that remembers your birthdays, someone to teach things like how to deal with curly hair with the humidity of the south, and even more basic things like food and running water. Like me providing that to a tiny little blonde haired girl would somehow heal the wounds I still carry from the lack of all of those in my own childhood.
Well, that ship has sailed, and the time has long passed where I would consider having another child, so instead I get to be the best Auntie to my friends’ kiddos. To beautiful little girls like these two. I feel very grateful to have them, and daughters of other amazing friends, to love and to guide and to try to inspire and to spoil on occasion.
I believe that one of the greatest honors in this life is to be loved and admired by a child, and I’m full of gratitude to the universe for bringing @jordanwhinnem and @artiofam and these two amazing hearts into my life with their love and laughter and spunk and spice.
